In January of 2013, Bell Mountain POA Corporation adopted the NC Planned Community Act (Chapter 47F). This "Act" provides additional protection for planned communities and covers a myriad of subjects. It includes the upkeep of common areas, the collection of dues/assessments, procedures for fines, association record keeping, and the requirement of a 67% approval threshold for increasing dues/assessments. It requires the use of Roberts Rules of Order for all official meetings and establishes a common set of vocabulary.

In addition to falling under Chapter 47F guidelines, Bell Mountain also falls under the NC Nonprofit Corporation Act (Chapter 55A) as we are a legal nonprofit corporation in the State of NC.
